Naval propellers from design to manufacture

Article Abstract:

Despite the huge progress made in the field of the design of ship propellers, propellers themselves are to some degree a puzzle to sailors, captains, naval architects and naval engineers. The dilemma provided by propellers may be due to the combination of many factors such as ship types, engine types and mission profiles. As an example, the propellers for fast attack ships should be able to attain high speeds and prevent erosive cavitation and should have a fixed pitch type.

Bremer Vulkan

Article Abstract:

Bremer Vulkan AG's shipyard may cease its operation without finding a company interested in acquiring the business. Lurssen Werft may save the business, following its offer to tale control of the now independent ship design firm, Bremer Vulkan Marinesschiffbau, and the shipyard. However, the deal can only proceed if Lurssen will be included in ARGE F 124, or Type F 124 frigate construction consortium.
