Networking national security

Article Abstract:

The US Department of Defense has incorporated an information-sharing system into an Advanced Concept Technology Demonstration (ACTD) and its domestic command-and-control network allows vast number of users to share critical information. The online information-sharing system called Area Security Operations Command and Control (ASOCC) improves situational awareness and integrates decision-making.

First-responder shortcoming: We need national training and certification standards

Article Abstract:

Law enforcement, state emergency management, force and hazardous materials, emergency medical services and city and country emergency management are the areas, which require national standard for training. Proper national training standards help these areas to be better prepared to counter terrorism.
