The US's unwavering demand for North Korea to undertake a complete verifiable and irreversible dismantling of its nuclear programme presently stands no chance of being implemented. China's gradual rise to regional prominence might further marginalize the US' strategic dominance in Northeast Asia.

North Korea initially condemned the 9/11/01 terrorist attacks against the US, but later began to condemn the US as it stuck against Afghanistan. North Korea has been one of the countries known to sponsor terrorism.
