The expeditionary force under stress

Article Abstract:

The reconfiguring of the schedule of its 10 rotating Air and Space Expeditionary Forces (AEFs) by the US Air Force in September 2004 has resulted in a setup that makes each airman vulnerable to deployment for up to 120-day deployments every 20 months. The flood of new tasking assigned to the Air Force from the Army and from the US Central Command Army has led at least 20% of the airmen into breaching the 120-day schedule, and the airman in general becoming stressed.
