Observations from the Navy League '98

Article Abstract:

The US Navy (USN) planning guidance that was announced during Navy League 1998 includes the procurement of several ships, aircrafts and ordnances. This presents both a challenge and a boon to the US defense equipment industry. The USN's ship programs will be dominated by the development of the CVX-78 aircraft carrier and the DD-21 destroyer. The Navy will also be awarding contracts for improving its firepower and aviation capabilities.
