Our manpower dilemma; there are in-house solutions to our manpower shortages

Article Abstract:

The Marine Corps is facing a manpower problem, with shortages is some areas and overstaffing in others. Suggestions for solving these problems include the proper use of Reserve manpower, and an alteration of the assignment policy.

The iron fist - a stranglehold on innovation; thinking 'outside the box' shouldn't always mean trouble

Article Abstract:

Too many Marine Corps officers adopt the iron-fist style of leadership, which permits no questioning of authority. This style of leadership is an easy one to adopt, and often covers a fear of failure.

My leadership credo; compassionate leadership does not betray the Corps' values

Compassionate leadership has been proven to be effective, however it is often overlooked in today's Marine Corps in favor of intimidation and an authoritarian approach.
