Article Abstract:

Army Acquisition Executive, Claude M. Bolton Jr., claims that his Acquisition, Logistics and Technology department works through a continuous cycle of innovation and experimentation, informed by experience to improve the capabilities of joint force, while ensuring that the Army is well postured for the challenges of the future. The goal of his department to is provide the soldier with the right product, at the right time, in the right place and at the right price.

Military Lite: War with half the cost

Article Abstract:

An internal memo to US Army leaders from Lt. General James Helmly proposed that the Pentagon would solve the manpower shortage with more reserve component (RC) soldiers and not more active component (AC) soldiers. The proposed solution is essentially to draft the reservists, as a nation wide draft would be politically unpalatable and expensive to maintain.

Sounding off: Green tabs for combat MPs

Article Abstract:

Commanders at all levels need to recognize military police as combat soldiers as they are employed in the combat role for which they are already trained. The green tabs should be placed on MP unit leadersE shoulders in recognition that they are equal with their combat branch counterparts when it comes to commanding their units in battle.
