Security for Singapore: Results and challenges

All those involved with counter-terrorism and security in Singapore are trying their level best to stay ahead of the terrorists in all ways. The responsibility of keeping the country safe rests not only with the government and business sector but also with the common man and therefore the fight against terrorism includes technological and intelligence strategies as well as indoctrination of the right ideology.

Private security companies: The reasons why

Article Abstract:

Private Security Companies (PSCs) have shown tremendous growth in the past few years mainly due to the proceedings in Iraq and partly because of global terrorism threat. PSCs provide logistic protection and support activities like training and they are no longer perceived as competitors but as a useful solution for a hazardous situation.

Private security companies: Under-regulated growth

Article Abstract:

States hire private security companies (PSCs) for the execution of several war-associated tasks previously performed by the military themselves, like translation, protection, logistics and training. The inadequate regulation of the private security industry, variously governed by national and international regulations, is discussed.
