Slovak defense industry - too large, too heavy?

Article Abstract:

Slovak Republic's independence on 1 January 1993 was a huge blow to the well-known Czechoslovak defense industry as well as a development that influenced heavily the whole economy of Slovakia. The challenges faced by the Slovak defense industry, as they are facing the serious problem of a nearly total absence of domestic customers, and the wide product range that depends on foreign customers are discussed.

EURENCO shifts to large-scale production of insensitive projectiles at new facility

Article Abstract:

Mass production of insensitive projectiles started in late June 2006 at EURENCO's (European Energetics Corporation) Sorgues factory in Southern France, where cast-cured plastic-bonded explosive (PBX) charges for army and navy projectiles would be produced on a large scale. The capacity of the newly commissioned Building 208 is 50,000 155 mm shells per year or 100,000 120 mm rounds annually.

Finland warms to wider industrial role

Finland has industrial defense requirements, which influences the role of its small and efficient defense industry. Finland is looking up at Nordic neighbors for its first levels of industrial partnership, but increasingly to Europe for export opportunities and interoperability.
