Power projection, crisis prevention and deterrence functions of France submarine fleet comprise both startegic/nuclear vessels such as the TN 75 nuclear-warhead-equipped 'Triomphant'-class subs, and the smaller attack sub fleet.

SIMMAD - support of naval aviation
Article Abstract:
SIMMAD, created in 1999 and operational on Sept 4, 2000, is the new naval aviation readiness integrated logistical organization of all French service branches. It oversees a total of 2,150 aircraft, of which 245 are Navy.
