Transforming marine aviation

Article Abstract:

Increasing the synergy between the elements of the US Marine Corps' Marine air-ground task force is vital if the service is to remain as the country's primary fighting arm. To achieve this goal, the aviation combat element of the unit must be able to operate in high- or mid-level conflict scenarios, against overwhelming forces, urban environments, against ambiguous threats and in adverse conditions resulting from either manmade or natural catastrophes.
