Technology insertion, the art of upgrading
Article Abstract:
Technological advances has allowed defense industries to upgrade tanks that are already existing instead of building new ones from scratch. These improvements include the development of better armor systems, smaller but more powerful powerpacks, bigger guns, better suspension systems and computerized fire control systems. Technology insertion has allowed governments to address the issues of mobility, firepower and survivability of their armed forces despite the reality of declining defense budgets.
