The CSM: Training and empowering NCOs

Article Abstract:

An Iraqi sergeant major CSM Hassan Abdul Kalam Radi is in process of building a strong non commissioned officer system (NCO) in the new Iraqi army (IA) with the help of some of the US Army advisors assigned to his brigade. CSM Radi is advancing the Iraqi NCO corps from brigade to the battalions and is also convincing the Iraqi officers to support the decision-making authority of the NCOs.

Gauging the benefits, perils of Iraqification

Article Abstract:

U.S. military commanders believe that American troops would never entirely defeat Iraqi insurgents and now plan to reduce offensive operations and focus on training Iraqi security forces. However, the American Military leaders and the insurgents would be gauging the strength of the Iraqi's commitment of policing their own districts.
