The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is strengthening security along the U.S. northern and southern borders through the Secure Border Initiative (SBI). Integrated use of increased manpower, infrastructure, cutting-edge technology, enhanced immigration enforcement, and cooperation with state, local and international partners support the DHS's efforts to thwart criminals and terrorists attempting to enter the U.S.
