The Strategy's ways and means

Article Abstract:

US President George W. Bush reassured in its strategy that the US has right to take preemptive action to thwart an attack or if its vital security interests are threatened. The US would protect itself with a new triad of offensive strike system, active and passive defense, including missile defense and a responsive infrastructure, which would offer more meaningful deterrence as well as add realistic defensive measures.

Setting a course for the Airborne Laser

Article Abstract:

The Airborne Laser is a high-energy laser system aboard a 747 airplane that could detect and shoot down theater ballistic missiles. The first craft will be ready for testing in 2005, and future enhancements could permit the airplanes to target ICBMs or ground targets.
