The army chief: An army of significant innovation

Article Abstract:

General Bernard Thorette, Chief of the French Army discusses and defines the main roles and missions of their forces and comments on current assets and future-oriented procurement programmes. He states that they have developed an ambitious policy aimed at participating in the co-operation and command structures, both within the framework of NATO and of the EU in order to increase their ability to operate within coalitions.

JSF operational sovereignty is vital for UK defense interests

Article Abstract:

Lord Drayson, on his visit to Washington as UK Minister for Defense Procurement, set out UK's perspective of the JSF program to the influential Senate Armed Services Committee. He outlined to the Committee the importance of the program to the UK's future military capability and ability to make a significant contribution to future joint operations with both the United States and other Allies.

Lieutenant General Edmund Entacher, Commander of Austrian Land Forces (ALF) discusses and defines the main roles and missions of their forces and comments on current assets and future-oriented procurement programmes. He believes that ALF's ambition is to provide a framework brigade on short notice for crisis management operations (CMO).
