The combined action platoon in Iraq

Article Abstract:

The Marines of 3rd platoon, Company G, Task Force 2/7 and Regimental Combat team, joined together on 30 May 2004 to form the first combined action program (CAP). The scope of the mission was threefold, to initiate the mission, coordinate and operate in CAP environment, and establish a training base to ensure the continuation of the mission.

The reconstruction effort

Article Abstract:

A study is conducted on the role of the Marine engineers in the reconstruction effort in Iraq. The Marine engineers are adapting their abilities to meet the more complex engineering needs of the Iraqi people, in spite of being sufficiently trained in a tactical environment in support of an expeditionary warfighting force.
