The impact of missile defense in Asia

Article Abstract:

The impact of the transition of the U.S. military forces from the traditional offense-dominant nuclear regime towards a new mix of offensive and defensive forces on the Asia-Pacific region are discussed. Even as the United States struggles with the new policies and dilemmas regarding the ballistic missile defense (BMD), the responses of various countries affected by American decisions, like Russia, North Korea, China and Pakistan, vary substantially.
