Bernard and Graefe Publishing Co has released the 63rd edition of the Weyer's Flottentaschenbuch 1997/98 - Warships of the World, containing comprehension information on the armament status of all the navies in the world. Printed in German and English languages, the book compiles all naval vessels by group and subgroup. Data on the naval vessels and classes include number of ships and class, name and types, displacement, measurement and size, and speed, among other things.

MASS - new decoy system for self-protection of ships

Article Abstract:

BUCK NEUE TECHNOLOGIEN has introduced the Multi Ammunition Softkill System (MASS), a decoy system that provides anti-ship missile protection to naval ships. MASS uses three basic components: ship-like combined RF/IR decoys, a computerized decoy deployment and trainable and stabilized decoy launchers. The MASS launchers are made of carbon fiber and features stealth design, small dimensions, light weight and high flexibility.

BARRACUDA: Guidance and control of a supercavitating high speed UW missile

Article Abstract:

Research of supercavitation technology in Germany has headed towards a smart, small and very agile weapon called BARRACUDA, the high speed, fast reaction times and high maneuverability of which, supports short range applications for surface ships and submarines. An overview of Germany's latest status in supercavitation technology is presented.
