The big switch: recollection of Marines in China

US Marine Corps troops were deployed in China at the end of World War II. One of their operations was the transfer of European internees from a Shantung Penisnula concentration camp to Tsintao.

A brief history of the 'old' Marine Corps is presented. For example, civilian social customs were stressed for the Marines of the 1930s, and the Corps' enlisted strength in 1939 was 17,000.
