UK launches new Falklands patrol ship

Article Abstract:

VT has launched its first Portsmouth built ship, a complex 48 hour float out of HMS Clyde, the UK Royal Navy's (RN) new Offshore Patrol Vessel (Helicopter) after almost 40 years. The HMS Clyde is a modified River class design that would replace HMS Leeds Castle and HMS Dumbarton Castle, as the UK's Falkland Islands Patrol ship, on station in the South Atlantic from the middle of 2007.

Turkey receives replies to submarine RfP

Article Abstract:

Turkey has received responses to its request for proposals (RfP) to acquire six submarines for their New Type Submarine Project. An announcement was made of replies from French, German, Italian, Russian and Spanish shipyards and also from United States-based Lockheed Martin Maritime Systems and Sensors.
