US ABM date slides to 2005

Article Abstract:

The target date for deploying a national anti-ballistic missile (ABM) system has been moved from 2003 to 2005 by the US government. Aside from the many failures of the US Army's Theater High-Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) to hit its target, the deployment of a national missile defense program is encountering political difficulties. Meanwhile, Defense Secretary William Cohen placed the price of building an ABM system at $10.5 billion.
