BAE Systems selected to provide further advanced communications technologies to BOWMAN

Article Abstract:

BAE Systems won a contract to develop the Tactical Name Service (TNS) sub- system for the UK armed forces' BOWMAN communications system. The TNS will be used mainly to support mobility of operations. The company was chosen by Archer Communications Systems Ltd and the UK Ministry of Defense because of its expertise in re-engineering commercial software processess into digitized battlespace. The contract is worth over 3 million pounds sterling.

Raytheon Marine enters into cooperative agreement with Thrane & Thrane

Article Abstract:

Raytheon Marine Co has become the worldwide distributor of Maritime Satellite Telephone Systems through a cooperative agreement it entered into with Thrane and Thrane A/S of Denmark in Jan 2000. Under the agreement, Raytheon Marine's High Seas and Recreational product units will offer their own branded Inmarsat Mini-M Maritime Telephone. The company expects to generate an additional $10 million per year in sales as a result of the agreement.

Aerosystems selected for Link II update

Article Abstract:

Aerosystems International (Ael) has been awarded a contract to provide a Link 11 Data Link systems for the United Kingdom's Royal Air Force's Nimrod MR Mk2 aircraft. The contract, valued at more than 4.5 million pounds sterling, also requires Ael to provide a spares, maintenance and extensive training package. A secure information system between the Nimrod and other operational units on the network will be established through Ael's Link 11.
