THAAD and PAC-3: Building the systems with user input

Article Abstract:

The US Army is training two batallions at Fort Bliss for its latest air defense artillery (ADA) systems, the Patriot advanced capability-3 (PAC-3) and the theater high-altitude area defense (THAAD). The 1st Batallion, which is currently assigned to the US Army Training and Doctrine Command's 6th ADA (1-6 ADA) Brigade, is training for and developing the THAAD. Meanwhile, training and development for PAC-3 is being managed by the 2nd Batallion, of the 35th ADA Brigade.

Signal command provides commercial communications in Afghanistan

Article Abstract:

The 11th Signal Brigade set up tactical communication sites at Mazar-e-Sharif, Bagram, Kabul, and Kandahar to relieve Special Forces and Marine signal assets creating a joint communication network for all commanders in Uzbekistan and in the battlefields of Afghanistan. The tactical networks consisted of satellite terminals, telephone switchboards and data network operation equipment.

Air and missile defense: Operation Iraqi freedom

Article Abstract:

The U.S. Air Force strongly believes that missile defense continues to play a very important role in the military strategy against protecting their citizen and also protecting their helicopter assembly area in central Iraq. The patriot batteries and the crewmembers proved invaluable in safeguarding over coalition forces and their host countries during the march to Baghdad.
