US-UK agree 'roadma' to reduce obstacles

Article Abstract:

The US and the UK has signed an agreement that is expected to promote defense industry production cooperation. The Declaration of Principles for Defense Equipment Cooperation was signed in Feb 2000, by US Defense Dept Sec William Cohen and Geoffrey Hoon, his counterpart in the UK. As a sign of US commitment to the endeavor, the Dept of Defense has already allotted $30 million for the acquisition of an integrated information system that will link the agency' export licensing authority with the Commerce Dept, the State Dept and the defense industry.

AFA celebrates Space Day

Article Abstract:

Air Force Assn (AFA) chapters along with schools nationwide celebrated the third annual Space Day event. Space Day, which is sponsored by 50 organizations including the AFA and the Aerospace Education Foundation, is the culminating activity of the 'Embrace Space' educational initiative. This initiative promotes achievements in space and the benefits and opportunities offered by space. Space Day 1999 opened with a ceremony at the National Air and Space Museum in Washington.

Miltary ethics in the Pentagon

Article Abstract:

Military relationship with Congress and the executive branch requires a lot of committment from personnel to keep a strong personal and institutional integrity. In Congress, for instance, this sense of deeper commitment would help them avoid the troubles that hounded people who gave false testimonies. In the executive level, military personnel must be able to take a stand on issues of integrity despite the hostile relationship that may arise.
