USAF presses its relevance in irregular warfare

Article Abstract:

U.S. Air Force officials are promoting the agency's role in planning for joint operations in irregular warfare and during the fight against insurgencies. Air Force Major General Allen G. Peck published a paper which stressed the role of airpower in counterinsurgency operations, urban warfare, and irregular wars.

USAF to forsake Navy jamming support

Article Abstract:

The US Air Force is not planning to renew its joint memorandum of agreement with the US Navy in the development of airborne electronic attack systems. The Air Force is instead considering the Core Component Jammer, which would install jamming pods under the wings of B-52 bombers.
