USAF's long-life A-10 gets smarter

Article Abstract:

The first Fairchild Republic A-10 Thunderbolt II to be upgraded by Lockheed Martin Systems Integration (LMSI) under Spiral 1 of the Precision Engagement (PE) program was due to make its first flight from the US Armed Forces (USAF's) Development Test facility at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida. LMSI was contracted to provide the support to sustain, modify and integrate changes into the A-10 fleet in recognition of the need to extend the aircraft's life and systems capability.

M30 GMLRS makes its operational debut as US Army ramps up full-rate production

Article Abstract:

Prime contractor Lockheed Martin received the full-rate production approval from the US Army in June 2005 and is expected to get the contract for the next tranche of 1,026 M30 Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System (GMLRS) GPS-guided rockets. GMLRS is the subject of an international co-operative program between France, Germany, Italy, the UK and the US and the US Army alone is planning to acquire more than 100,000 GMLRS rockets.

Complementary land-attack payloads proposed for SSGN multirole platforms

Article Abstract:

Lockheed Martin is proposing a combination of unmanned aerial vehicles and naval variants of the US ArmyEs Tactical Missile System. This would allow the four Ohio class ballistic-missile submarines (SSBN) that the US Navy is converting into SSGN multirole platforms to conduct a variety of land-attack missions.
