Venezuela selects AMX

Article Abstract:

Aermacchi has received an order from the Venezuelan Air Force for an unspecified number of AMX light strike aircraft. The order follows the recent decision by the Venezuelan Air Force to purchase the Aermacchi SF-260E primary trainer and MB-339FD advanced trainer. The order also marks the first export contract for the AMX, which was developed and produced under an Italian-Brazilian cooperation program. The Venezuelan Air Force will purchase the ATA (Advanced Training and Attack) two-seat combat capable version of the AMX.
