The Alabama National Guard in Phenix City- a high watermark

Article Abstract:

The Alabama National Guard has participated in every significant military action undertaken by the US since the War of 1812, but its distinguished efforts were in the battle for Phenix City in 1954 in Alabama. Phenix City, that cesspool of decadence, where gamblers, vice lords and thugs, protected by corrupt local officials exploit human weaknesses was tamed by Alabama National Guard by searching, seizing and arresting the wrongdoers of all persuasions, from the mayor on down.

Major combat in Iraq

Article Abstract:

The U.S. and Iraqi troops encircled Fallujah and began a major assault on November 8, 2004 in an operation called 'Al Fajr', the largest combat operation since the conventional phase of the war, to eliminate the resistance there. Command of the operation is under the 1st Marine Expeditionary Force, however, major elements of the Army's 1st Infantry Division are involved.

Tips for reshaping our defense arsenal and simultaneously winning respect and confidence within the military and civilian ranks are listed. The thesis behind this is that conflict resolution begins and ends on the ground, where people live.
