Article Abstract:

The historical evolution and the situation of the Indonesian Navy and its Naval industry in 2004 provides vital information that is very important for the development of the maritime business sector in the future. The Indonesian Navy's (IDN) main missions and tasks, naval assets, international and co-operational exercises, procurement and modernization programmes and naval industrial base are described.

Whole of life support of present and future naval capability

Article Abstract:

Australia's defense is reorganizing not only acquisition of naval capability and in-service support but land and aerospace structures into a single Defence Material Organization (DMO), which is responsible for supporting all defence equipment. Service delivery has improved and more informed logistic decisions have resulted due to the integration of the acquisition and support information.

Whole of life support of present and future naval capability

Article Abstract:

The Australia's defense organization is going through a significant change driven by inter alia, by the challenges of budget pressures, and the increasing cost of technology. The organizational change aims to remove the blurred accountabilities for Whole of Life support issues that previously existed between the separate acquisition and support organizations.
