Article Abstract:

Singapore Airlines has ordered 10 Airbus A-3XX jets from Airbus Industrie. Airbus A-3XX is a superjumbo jet that can fly 555 passengers. Airbus will not start production until it receives a total of 40 to 50 orders.

Airbus plans humongous, 2-decker jet

Article Abstract:

Airbus Industrie plans to build the world's largest two-level jetliner that would accomodate 550 passengers. The aircraft will cost $10 billion and at least $250 million per unit, which is $60 million more than Boeing Co's largest aircraft, the 747. North America Chmn Jonathan Schofield sees the product development as a challenge to Boeing's undisputed market leadership in building large jetliners.
