Backbench rumbles: liberal MPs are upset as the government backpedals on the GST

Many Liberals are outraged that the provincial financial ministers did not even discuss the GTS when they met in Ottawa in Feb 1996. Although the Liberal Party made a committment to replace the tax by 1995, but a strategy for doing so has not been developed.
