Loyalty costs employees of struggling AT&T, Lucent

Article Abstract:

The morale of AT and T and Lucent workers are down due to the struggles that the two titans are experiencing. Employees who have been loyal to the companies are facing dreary prospects for retirement as the companies' values plummet. AT and T is poised to split itself into three companies. What would remain would barely resemble the American icon once known as Ma Bell. Lucent, meanwhile, is poised to conduct big layoffs. Thus, morale at both camps has sunk as the companies' problems mount.
