Article Abstract:

Economists see the Asian currency crisis as either a major complication for the Australian economy or as good fortune for consumers. It is still unknown if this crisis will impact Australian export industries and the domestic marketplace, but consumer confidence is at all time high. 1998 promises to be an eventful year with the federal election, tax reforms, and an increase in interest rates.
