Hughes Electronics recasts itself as a media company

Article Abstract:

Hughes Electronics Corp., using the name HUGHES, is launching a corporate image campaign. The company has sold almost all the electronic manufacturing businesses that consumers still associate with the name. Hughes, now primarily a satellite TV broadcaster, wants to make this known. DirecTV provides 66% or more of its revenue. The other three main business units are PanAmSat, DirecTV Latin, Hughes Network Systems.
