Web cultivates Latin American market

Article Abstract:

A number of Web sites and portals aimed exclusively at the US Hispanic market are emerging on the Internet. This segment, the fastest-growing minority group in the country, is seen as a largely untapped market. The online firms include Quepasa.com of Phoenix, AZ, StarMedia Network of New York and El Sitio of Buenos Aires, Argentina. An increase in online users from 20% to 41% of the estimated 31 million Hispanics in the US has been projected for year 2000.

Branson closer to control of lottery

Article Abstract:

Sprint PCS has launched a new wireless World wide Web service that will enable full access to corporate data at speeds comparable to most personal computer modems. Business travelers using the service would be able to get up-to-the-minute access to electronic mail, calendars and secure corporate databases on Web-enabled cellular telephones. It will also allow customers to connect these telephones to their laptop modems. The service demonstrates Sprint PCS' aggressive push to capture a larger share of the corporate market.
