Imax theatre proposed for Budapest

Article Abstract:

Imax Corp. of Mississauga, Ontario, may open its first Eastern European theatre in Budapest, Hungary. Montreal, Quebec-based Midplay International's proposed project for downtown Budapest would incorporate Imax theatre with an entertainment, educational and cultural centre, international exhibits and high-tech interactive games. Construction for the project is expected to start in 1999. Project developers hope to capitalize on Hungarians' love for films, as well as attract the country's large foreign population and tourists.
