Keeping up with Jones

Article Abstract:

New South Wales premier Bob Carr has appointed new ministers for police and education, apparently after conferring with radio commentator Alan Jones. Although media critics say Jones is too powerful, his recent campaign exposing police failures was accurate, and his comments about school closings have exposed failures of the Labor Party's education program. It is unfortunate t hat Jones himself has become the issue, rather than the issues that he addresses.
