Labor's twin blows

Article Abstract:

The Australian Labor Party lost the latest election, despite a poll showing them with a 9 percentage point lead just a few days before the election. Pollster Gary Morgan has reinterviewed his subjects and found that some 15% changed their minds during the week before the election, including 5% who changed their mind while in the polling booth. Labor lost votes because of its agreement with the Liberal party on asylum seekers, coupled with news stories about the plight of asylum seekers.
