Alister Jeffery's Bluestone is one of the largest lenders to small businesses in Australia, including those trying to fund a tax debt and consolidate various debts into a single loan. It has launched a new equity release product, which allows retirees to unlock the value of their home by providing loans that capitalize the interest payments and the company is one of the fastest growing businesses in Australia, establishing a loan book of more than $2 billion.

Caught out: how the banks mortgaged their credibility

Article Abstract:

Secret tapes have revealed that major Australian banks were helping real estate tycoons to sell property at inflated prices, thus raising issues related to the credibility of the banks. Marketing officials of the real estate tycoons convinced ordinary, middle-class Australians to purchase property, where the banks knowingly provided loans for the highly over-priced property without appropriate evaluations, thereby cheating their customers.
