Making the decision to end a baby's life

Article Abstract:

Wanda Hudson's son was born with a form of dwarfism that impairs lungs and chest cavity development, and doctors at Texas children's Hospital deemed his condition untreatable and fatal. A debate of the infant end-of-life issues is discussed giving reference to the case of Baby Doe who suffered from Down's Syndrome and died in 1982 in a potentially life saving surgery which was opposed by his parents.

Mandatory minimums hit non-violent first-timers

Article Abstract:

Federal mandatory minimum sentencing laws, which were designed to target the most violent drug offenders and to catch people high on the drug-distribution food chain in the US, clogged the country's prisons with addicts and low-level and first-time offenders serving long-term prisons. The effectiveness of the mandatory minimum policies and their unintended consequences are discussed.

Are bloggers journalists?

Article Abstract:

The increasing number of Bloggers has resulted in controversy over their use of confidential sources to gain information and thus hold a doubt about their stand as a journalist. The three blogger sites, Thinksecret.com, Appleinside.com and Powerpage.org were warned by the California government to disclose their sources of leaked company secrets.
