Mixing Palm with phone: Another try

Article Abstract:

The Samsung I300 is a cellphone with a color touchscreen with a keypad that disappears when the customer wants to access other data on the organizer. The $500 smart phone, sold in Sprint stores is gently bowed at 5" x 2.3" with several ways to access phone numbers and a set-up plan for 99 speed-dial numbers. 20 numbers in the address book can be accessed by voice. 3-way calling, Caller ID, speakerphone and call waiting are all in the I300 package within crystal clear audio. The screen is tiny and the virtual keypad can be cumbersome but with features like the ability to tape calls and the adaptability to the Internet and e-mail, the Samsung seems to shine over rival Kyocera QCP 6035.

Snapshots on your television

Article Abstract:

The Iomega FotoShow Zip allows users to view digital camera photos on a TV. The device uses either 100MB Zip disks or 250MB Zip disks to store the image data. A 96 MB camera memory card costs $250. So downloading data from the camera's Compact Flash or Smart Media card to an $8 or $12 Zip disk makes economic sense. The software displays any JPEG format file. The software and accompanying manual are difficult to use. But The images displayed on the TV are large and clear.

Beyond zip: hard drive unhitched

Article Abstract:

Iomega's successful line of zip drives have become obsolete as the need for greater storage space and problems with data crashes hurt demand for them. The company has now come out with a new product called Peerless which, while it is still mobile like the zips, has much more data storage capacity and is designed differently to handle data with more reliability.
