Notes Prompt Judge to Halt Chrysler Trial

Article Abstract:

New information from DaimlerChrysler motivated Judge Joseph J. Farnan Jr. to interrupt the trial until the relevance of the records could be determined. Kerkorian is suing over misrepresentation of the merger of Daimler-Benz and Chrysler. He believes that it was not a merger of equals but a straightforward acquisition and he should receive 62% loss-of-control premium for his 89 million Chrsyler shares.

Supreme Court to Determine Fate of Business Tax Credits

Article Abstract:

The Supreme Court will rule on an appeal by the state of Ohio and DaimlerChrysler Corp. regarding the constitutionality of investment tax credits the automaker received from the state. Ohio taxpayers who disapprove of the tax credit were among the plaintiffs.
