Pres Clinton and Canada's Jean Chretien signed an open skies agreement in early 1995, which is likely to improve service and possibly lower fares on US-Canada air routes. Both Air Canada and PWA Corp are enthusiastic about their prospects for growth, given increased access to the US market.

Returning home: investors devour Trelleborg's stake in Falconbridge

A group of 15 Canadian investors paid $1.4 billion Canadian dollars for Trelleborg's 50% stake in the nickel mining concern Falconbridge Ltd on July 26, 1995. Trelleborg earned some $600,000 on its investment in Falconbridge, which it made in Sep 1989.
