The aesthetics of the personal computer have increasingly become a marketing strategy for the computer industry, as witnessed by the success of Apple's iMac. PC manufacturers believe consumers expect constant design innovation, transforming the PC into a "lifestyle product." The key is finding the right combination of functionality and aesthetics to appeal to the 65% of Australian households that do not own a computer.
