Rumsfeld Quick to Dismiss Talk Of Reduced Role in Iraq Policy

Article Abstract:

Sec. of Defense Donald Rumsfeld is trying to dispel any conflicts over his future role in the making of Iraq policy. National security adviser Condoleeza Rice created the Iraq Stabilization Group without consulting him. The White House, however, is acting to emphasize that there was full coordination among various government officials to find new ways to implement better ways to manage the occupation of Iraq.
