Sharon Threatens to Impose Split on Palestinians

Article Abstract:

Ariel Sharon has declared that his government will create its security plan if the Palestinians will not accept a negotiated peace treaty, or the proposed US road map. Sharon supports the treaty that will create a Palestinian state in 2005 and start the process of removing illegal Israeli settlements while easing restrictions in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. Without Palestinian cooperation, he will designate secure borders, preserve some of the settlements and disengage from the territories without providing any concessions to the Palestinians.
