Software maker's sudden slump prompts suit

Article Abstract:

Nuance Communications and it's persuasive chief, Ronald A. Croen and 4 other executives are being sued for securities fraud. Croen assured investor on January 30th announced that the voice recognition software company would be healthy as he and other executives sold more than 400,00 shares of stock for about $15 million, when the stock was about $40 a share. The stock closed at $9.69 on March 16th. Shareholders are suing though most securities dealers don't see deception by Croen and the company. (Croen sold 223,700 in February).

Merck Asks Court to Dismiss First Vioxx Suit

Merck and Company is facing hundreds of personal injury lawsuits by people who took the painkiller Vioxx. The company claims that the evidence given by Cheryl Rogers, in the first of these suits, is false.
