Swiss company locks up deal for Montreal's Unican (Kaba Holding AG buys Unican Security Systems Ltd.)

Switzerland's security hardware and electronic locks company Kaba Holding AG, has acquired Canada's Unican Security Systems Ltd., for $750 million. When completed, the merger would create one of the world's largest security systems company.

Celestica to buy large Brazil manufacturer

Toronto, Ont.-based Celestica Inc., an electronics manufacturer, will acquire Sao Paulo, Brazil-based NEC do Brasil Ltda., which is a subsidiary of Japan's NEC Corp. The deal includes a 5-year, $1.2 billion supply contract between Celestica and NEC do Brasil.
