The impact of farm lifestyle and health characteristics: Cervical cancer screening among Southern farmwomen

Article Abstract:

A cross-sectional study design used to compare the proportion of women failing to obtain cervical cancer screening in three Southern states to state-level Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System data and to identify factors contributing to cervical cancer screening and detection behaviors is illustrated. Rural women face substantial access barriers to healthcare as they are generally older, poorer, lack insurance, and have lower levels of education.

Nurses' attitudes toward provision of care and related health outcomes

Article Abstract:

A retrospective exploratory study is employed to examine the contribution of attitudinal, normative and control influences on the intrapartum nurses' attitude towards provision of care to pregnant women during labor. The analysis demonstrates that attitude as well as social pressures highly influence the nurses' behavior and hence should be taken care of by the healthcare providers to ensure better patient care and health outcomes.
